As Dvara E-Registry explores the best model and features of products that are customised for each farmer and land parcel, it provides a fertile ground for research institutions to ideate and provide policy solutions. Research, consequential generation of data, documents and establishment of best practices in the area of agriculture, farmer empowerment and farmer welfare would help secure the vision of universal financial inclusion for State entities. Using our services, government schemes can ensure the provision of credit and crop insurance to previously excluded insurance and tenant farmers. Our technology assists in crop yield forecasting and processing targeted insurance payouts.
Using propriety algorithms, Dvara E-Registry has automated land parcel identification, crop identification, crop stage assessment and crop yield estimation. To date, we have digitised close to 50,000 land parcels, have data for 12 crops, and analysed data pertaining to 18,000 distinct crop images from the field. These algorithms are also trained to analyse satellite and weather data. We go off the beaten path by employing a ground-up approach for data collection/acquisition, which results in substantially higher accuracy of data and its consequent usability for financial products. A direct application of this has been for devising better crop insurance claim settlement solutions for state governments. Using our technology, the yield was estimated more accurately at a plot level as opposed to Gram Panchayat level and at a fraction of the cost.
We have also been recognised for our case study on "Leveraging Technology to Enhance Credit and Insurance Delivery to Small and Marginal Farmers in Odisha" at the Livelihoods India Summit 2019 organised by Access Development Services limited.
